Despite having quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell on their roster, the Las Vegas Raiders are not ruling out selecting a quarterback in this week’s NFL Draft.
General Manager Tom Telesco addressed the possibility during a press conference on Monday, stating that the team is drafting for the future and will consider all positions, including quarterback. He acknowledged that the Raiders may need to trade up to land their desired prospect.
Telesco noted that the club is prepared to move up, stay put, or trade back, depending on how the draft unfolds. He added that the team has had general conversations with other teams but expects discussions to become more specific later in the week.
Whether or not the Raiders end up with a first-round quarterback remains to be seen, but Telesco’s comments suggest that the team is open to the possibility.
