The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) government in Rajasthan has taken several key decisions aimed at improving the lives of its citizens. In a cabinet meeting on September 4, the government approved a 33% reservation for women in the police force, paving the way for increased female representation in law enforcement. This move follows a similar decision by the Union government in 2015, which mandated a 33% reservation for women in non-gazetted police posts in Delhi.
The Rajasthan government also announced a 5% additional allowance for pensioners between the ages of 70 and 75. This decision was made after a discussion on the Rajasthan Appropriation and Finance Bill in the Assembly, where the Chief Minister had initially proposed the allowance. The government also simplified the process of adding dependents to the Pension Payment Order, allowing for the inclusion of specially-abled children, dependent parents, and specially-abled siblings in cases where there are no other eligible members.
In a move towards sustainable energy development, the cabinet approved the allotment of land for a 3,150 MW solar power project. This project is expected to create significant employment opportunities and boost the state’s revenue. Law and Justice Minister Jogaram Patel emphasized the economic benefits of this initiative.
These decisions highlight the Rajasthan government’s commitment to promoting gender equality, supporting senior citizens, and fostering economic growth through renewable energy sources. They represent a significant step forward in improving the lives of Rajasthan’s citizens.
