The action drama ‘Vettaiyan’, starring the legendary duo Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, is holding strong at the box office. The film, which marks Amitabh Bachchan’s Tamil cinema debut, has captivated audiences with its gripping narrative and stellar performances.
On its fourth day, ‘Vettaiyan’ earned an estimated ₹ 22.25 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This marks a slight dip compared to the ₹ 26.75 crore earned on Saturday. Despite this minor drop, the film has amassed a total box office collection (India Net) of ₹ 104.8 crore in just four days.
The film’s popularity is evident in its impressive Tamil occupancy, which reached 57.25% on Sunday. However, the Hindi audience response remains lukewarm with a Hindi occupancy of only 19.75% on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions, ‘Vettaiyan’ boasts an ensemble cast including Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and Abhirami. Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Sathyadev, in the film is particularly noteworthy for his powerful dialogue, “Justice delayed is justice denied; justice hurried is justice buried,” highlighting his opposition to encounter killings.
‘Vettaiyan’ marks Lyca Productions’ thirtieth venture and is already proving to be a significant success. The film’s captivating storyline, stellar performances, and strong box office numbers make it a must-watch for cinema lovers. Anirudh Ravichander’s impressive music score further adds to the film’s appeal.
