Rams’ Draft Plans: Intel Points to Quarterback Pursuit at Pick 19

NFL Insider Ari Meirov has released his only first-round NFL Mock Draft, relying solely on inside information gathered in the lead-up to Thursday’s draft. His insights suggest that the Los Angeles Rams may be targeting a quarterback with their 19th overall pick. Meirov’s decision is based on several factors, including Matthew Stafford’s age and limited remaining contract, Sean McVay’s decision to stay with the team for the long term, and the Rams’ unsuccessful attempt to trade for Sam Howell earlier this offseason.

If the Rams do indeed pursue a quarterback, they will likely have their pick of J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr., or Bo Nix, depending on the Vikings and Raiders’ draft choices. Meirov believes that Nix is the most likely option for the Rams, as he narrows his selection down to Penix and Nix in his mock draft.
