Aaron Ramsdale’s two-year reign as Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper is over, with the 25-year-old now facing an uncertain future at the club. Ramsdale, who joined the Gunners from Sheffield United in 2021, has been usurped by Brentford loanee David Raya this season and has made only 11 competitive appearances, with just two of those coming in 2024.
With Raya set to join Arsenal permanently in the summer, Ramsdale’s chances of reclaiming his place in the team appear slim. As a result, the England international is reportedly considering his options and is open to a move away from the Emirates Stadium in search of regular playing time.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal will demand a £60m fee for Ramsdale, who has a contract until 2026 with the option of a further year. His situation has attracted the attention of several clubs, including Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Chelsea are keen to strengthen their goalkeeping department after being unconvinced by David Sanchez, while Newcastle are looking for a replacement for Nick Pope, who has been out with a shoulder injury since December.
AC Milan and Bayern Munich have also been linked with Ramsdale, but it remains to be seen whether they will make a formal offer. With Ramsdale’s future up in the air, it will be interesting to see where he ends up next season.
