Ravindra Jadeja has etched his name into the history books of Indian cricket, becoming the seventh player from the country to claim 300 Test wickets. The all-rounder achieved this remarkable milestone on Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
Jadeja, known for his exceptional spin bowling and consistent batting performances, reached the 300-wicket mark by dismissing Khaled Ahmed in his 10th over of the first innings. He is also the first left-arm spinner from India to accomplish this feat, highlighting his unique skill set.
The 35-year-old spinner has achieved this milestone in just 73 Tests, showcasing his consistency and dominance in the longest format of the game. He has an impressive average of 23.98 and a strike rate of 58.10, solidifying his place among the elite bowlers of the world.
However, Jadeja’s contributions extend beyond his bowling prowess. He is also a valuable asset with the bat, having scored 3,122 Test runs at an average of 36.72, including four centuries and 21 half-centuries. His all-round abilities have made him an indispensable player for the Indian team.
Among Indian bowlers, Jadeja is the fourth fastest to reach 300 wickets, following R. Ashwin (54 matches), Anil Kumble (66), and Harbhajan Singh (72).
