Red Bull KTM Factory Racing is gearing up for a dominant performance in the FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) with the support of Marelli Motorsport. This new collaboration marks a significant step forward for both companies, solidifying their existing partnership and extending it into the world of motocross.
Marelli, a leading mobility technology supplier to the automotive sector, has a long history of innovation and excellence in motorsports. They’ve been a key partner for KTM in developing electronic systems and data management across various racing disciplines, including road racing and the MotoGPTM project. Their expertise in this field was instrumental in Red Bull KTM’s impressive victory at the Dakar Rally in 2023.
This partnership will see Marelli Motorsport provide their technical expertise and resources to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s MXGP and MX2 efforts. They will be instrumental in optimizing the KTM 450 SX-F and KTM 250 SX-F machines, leveraging their knowledge in hardware and software to enhance performance.
Robert Jonas, Vice President of OFFROAD Racing for KTM, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We’re really happy to bring Marelli Motorsport even closer to our KTM Motorsport program and deeper into the operations of the MXGP team. Marelli pride themselves on innovation and development, and we’re pushing hard to make all aspects of our racing project the best it can be.”
Riccardo De Filippi, Head of Marelli Motorsport, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the opportunity to expand their expertise into the off-road sector. “Through this new collaboration, we are thrilled to consolidate and extend our already successful technical partnership with KTM Motorsport into a new field. This will be a great opportunity to leverage our extensive ‘on track’ expertise into the off-road sector, further strengthening our long presence in the world of two-wheel motorsports.”
This strategic alliance marks a significant move for both companies as they combine their strengths to conquer the world of motocross. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, with Marelli’s technical support, is poised to dominate the MXGP and MX2 championships, pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance in the sport.
