Redesigned Sonos App Unveiled: Unifying the Streaming Landscape

In a move to streamline the increasingly fragmented streaming landscape, Sonos has announced a significant redesign of its mobile and web app, scheduled for global release on May 7. The new app revolves around a highly customizable home screen that enables users to establish a personalized listening experience tailored to their preferences.

The home screen serves as a central hub, supporting over 100 streaming services. Users can rearrange and customize their home screen layout, prominently displaying their preferred services alongside quick access to recently played music, podcasts, and audiobooks. Additionally, they can pin their favorite content and services to the home screen for instant accessibility.

To facilitate seamless content discovery, the app incorporates a built-in search feature that enables users to search across all their preferred streaming apps for artists, songs, podcasts, audiobooks, and more. Additionally, swiping up from the bottom of the home screen provides a concise visual overview of what’s playing on connected devices, along with intuitive controls for grouping speakers and adjusting volume throughout the home.
