One year after the tragic loss of Tabatha Tozzi, her loved ones and community gathered at Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas to honor her memory and demand justice for her unsolved murder. Tozzi, a 26-year-old Las Vegas resident, was fatally shot by her then-boyfriend, Oswaldo Natanahel Perez-Sanchez, on April 22, 2023.
Perez-Sanchez, who remains at large, has ties to Southern California and Mexico, according to the FBI. Tozzi’s mother, Regina Lacerda, has repeatedly pleaded with Perez-Sanchez to turn himself in, as she believes he took Tozzi’s life because she no longer wanted to be with him.
Tozzi’s friends and family have found solace in supporting each other through group chats and wearing T-shirts that call for justice for Tozzi. One friend, Alicia Lozoya, got a tattoo of Tozzi’s eyes on the back of her hand.
During the gathering at Craig Ranch Regional Park, dozens of blue balloons were released into the sky in Tozzi’s memory. Several people spoke and shared their memories of Tozzi, while Lacerda expressed her hope that her daughter was happy in heaven and vowed to fight for justice until her last breath.
Tozzi’s friends and family continue to live with the grief of her loss, but they remain determined to keep her memory alive and advocate for the justice that she deserves.
