rePurpose Global Acquires Bluebird Climate to Accelerate Sustainability Action for Consumer Brands

rePurpose Global, the leading plastic action platform, announced its acquisition of Bluebird Climate, a sustainability software company that assists consumer brands in evaluating, improving, and openly communicating the environmental impact of their goods, ingredients, and packaging.

Bluebird Climate has created an industry-leading software platform that provides on-demand Lifecycle Assessments, packaging waste & recyclability analysis, and consumer transparency tools for the CPG & consumer goods industry. Bluebird Climate was established in 2021 by Rob Hruby, Mark Dedomenico, and Eric Hudson. To date, the company has collaborated with over 100 leading brands, including Credo Beauty, Kinship, and Hum Nutrition, to develop and optimize over 1000 products using its exclusive sustainability and supply chain datasets across carbon, waste, and recyclability measurements.

This acquisition will expand rePurpose Global’s capabilities and expedite its objective of becoming a one-stop shop for assisting consumer brands in meeting rising consumer, retailer, and regulatory demands for climate action, waste reduction, and supply chain transparency.

Over the following months, the combined organization will concentrate on enhancing Bluebird Climate’s capabilities and maintaining service to its present customers and partners while integrating the platform into rePurpose Global’s technology stack. Additionally, rePurpose Global intends to increase the platform’s methodologies and capabilities to the home care, food and beverage, and apparel industries, despite Bluebird’s initial emphasis on beauty, wellness, and personal care applications.

rePurpose Global advisor, impact executive, and Pact Collective Co-Founder Bethany Tran-Quang hailed the acquisition, emphasizing the growing importance for companies to grasp their material use, packaging end-of-life, and overall environmental effect due to expanding sustainability regulations and retailer requirements. She expressed confidence that rePurpose and Bluebird’s collaboration will aid brands in making more educated packaging decisions.

rePurpose Global is the world’s leading Plastic Action Platform, bringing together brands, consumers, innovators, and policymakers to collectively combat the plastic waste crisis. Through its pioneering solutions across the circular economy value chain, the organization has helped more than 300 companies measure, reduce, and take action on their plastic footprints, while driving systems change on a global scale. rePurpose Impact Projects have recovered over 25 million kilograms of plastic waste from the environment to date, protecting vulnerable coastal regions across the Americas, Africa, and Asia. In doing so, the organization has enabled the delivery of waste management services to millions of people across the world, while positively impacting the lives of thousands of marginalized waste workers.
