Restaurateur Omid Zahedi, whose Rise Pizzeria in Burlingame has become a beloved destination for wood-fired eats, is expanding his culinary empire to the South Bay. This summer, he plans to open a new restaurant in Santa Clara’s Rivermark Plaza, occupying the former home of Piatti. The new eatery will showcase Zahedi’s signature wood-fired cooking techniques, with a menu featuring rotisserie chicken, salmon, ribs, prime rib, and pizza. House-baked pies will also be a highlight, ensuring a sweet ending to every meal.
Zahedi’s culinary journey began in the fast-food pizza business, where he witnessed firsthand the power of great food. However, it was his passion for ‘the new wave of fine pizza’ that truly ignited his culinary fire. Years of experimentation and practice, including building a brick oven on a trailer to serve at charity events, led to the perfection of his recipes. In 2017, Zahedi and his wife, Susan Payrovi, launched their first eatery, Rise Pizzeria, in downtown Burlingame. The restaurant quickly gained a loyal following for its delicious pizzas and warm ambiance.
Now, Zahedi is bringing his culinary magic to the South Bay. The new restaurant in Rivermark Plaza will be the largest in the center and will feature a spacious outdoor dining area, perfect for enjoying the California sunshine while savoring Zahedi’s delectable creations. With its prime location and tantalizing menu, the new eatery is poised to become a culinary destination in Santa Clara. Follow the progress of the restaurant at 3905 Rivermark Plaza and get ready to embark on a wood-fired culinary adventure like no other.
