Rihanna is the new face of the iconic Dior J’Adore fragrance. She replaces Charlize Theron who was the face of the scent for 20 years, becoming a true icon for the fragrance. Theron remains a Dior ambassador, taking on the role of style and jewelry ambassador for the French fashion house.
Rihanna shared her excitement about joining the brand, stating, “Being the new face of J’Adore is both an honor and a mission. This scent that I have known and loved for so long means so much to women. I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”
Dior is equally thrilled to have Rihanna join their team. “The unusual talent, audacity, and captivating beauty of this absolute star are the ideal embodiment of dazzling, powerful Dior femininity that transcends generations,” shared Véronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior. “Her golden dream promises to be unique, reflecting a fragrance that is present for women and retains its radiance.”
Dior J’Adore debuted in 1999 and was formulated by perfumer Calice Becker. It’s a floral fragrance built around jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang notes housed in an equally iconic teardrop-shaped bottle with a high, skinny neck wrapped in gold. J’Adore has been a bestseller for the house since its inception and the lineup now includes several flankers.
Rihanna’s first Dior J’Adore campaign will be revealed on September 1 and will be shot by Steven Klein. We can’t wait to see what Rihanna brings to the iconic J’Adore fragrance. We are hoping for both a visual campaign and commercials. Imagine Rihanna stalking through the hallways of a golden mansion in a shimmering gown. Now that would be a campaign worth watching!
