Rimac Unveils Limited Edition Nevera R Hypercar: Faster, More Focused Than Ever

Croatian automotive manufacturer Rimac Automobili has taken the performance of their electric hypercar, the Nevera, to a whole new level with the introduction of the limited-edition Nevera R. This track-focused beast is built for cornering prowess and boasts an impressive list of upgrades, making it even faster than the already record-breaking Nevera.

The Nevera R is equipped with a performance-oriented battery, advanced braking systems, and a staggering 2,107 horsepower. These enhancements allow it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 1.74 seconds and reach 186 mph in 8.66 seconds, putting it firmly in the realm of the world’s fastest vehicles.

Rimac plans to produce only 40 units of the Nevera R globally, ensuring exclusivity and a heightened sense of desirability. Mate Rimac, CEO of the Rimac Group, stated, “…we’re relentlessly tweaking to customers’ desires, and many were looking for a car that really emphasized the Nevera’s cornering ability, using all the advanced technology on-board. We responded with the Nevera R: all the DNA of the record-breaking Nevera, but lighter, faster, and more focused.”

The Nevera R’s performance puts it in direct competition with other high-performance electric vehicles like Tesla’s Model S Plaid, which can reach 60 mph in 1.99 seconds. However, the Nevera R’s starting price of over $2 million is significantly higher than the Model S Plaid’s $89,990 starting price.

The Nevera R isn’t the only electric hypercar pushing the boundaries of performance. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously stated that their upcoming Roadster will be even faster than the Nevera. While Tesla plans to begin production of the Roadster in 2025, there are still some updates planned for the vehicle. Musk has hinted at an acceleration time of under 1 second from 0 to 60 mph, a feat made possible by collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX.

The release of the Nevera R signals a continued push for innovation and performance in the electric hypercar market. With the emergence of these ultra-fast and technologically advanced vehicles, the future of performance driving is clearly electric.
