Sony has released a free demo for their highly anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive, Rise of the Ronin, giving players a taste of the action-packed adventure ahead. The demo covers the game’s opening chapter, allowing players to experience the thrilling battle with Gonzo and make their first impactful choice.

For those who decide to purchase the full game, the good news is that they can transfer their save data from the demo, seamlessly continuing their journey. In addition, four free avatars are now available for players to personalize their PSN ID with the game’s aesthetics.

The demo was announced in a PlayStation Blog post, which also unveiled some intriguing statistics about player choices from the game’s launch to June 20. These insights provide a glimpse into the diverse paths players have taken, revealing interesting trends in gameplay.

Around 65% of players chose to spare Gonzo, demonstrating a preference for compassion. Meanwhile, 38% sided with the anti-shogunate faction, showcasing a commitment to political change. The data also highlighted the game’s romantic options, with 30% of players embarking on relationships with NPCs.

In terms of difficulty, 51% of players chose the medium Dusk setting, while 13% opted for the challenging Twilight mode and 36% played on the easiest difficulty. A smaller percentage, 18%, chose the hardest difficulty, showcasing the game’s appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers. Furthermore, 16% of players achieved the remarkable feat of collecting all 100 cats, demonstrating dedication to exploring the game’s world and uncovering its hidden secrets.

Rise of the Ronin, developed by Team Ninja, the studio behind acclaimed titles like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Ninja Gaiden, and Nioh, has been touted as one of PlayStation’s biggest exclusives for 2024.
