The pharmaceutical chain Rite Aid has announced the closure of 436 stores since October in bankruptcy filings. This includes 17 stores in Pennsylvania, as well as a store in Dauphin County. Customers in Dauphin County are being directed to a nearby CVS pharmacy for their prescription needs. Rite Aid is also selling off part of its Health Dialog business. These closures are part of a larger trend of retail store closures in recent years, as consumers increasingly shop online. Rite Aid is one of several major retailers that have filed for bankruptcy in recent months, including JCPenney, Neiman Marcus, and Pier 1 Imports.
