California-based electric vehicle startup Rivian has upped the ante with the release of the ‘Tri Max’ version of its R1S SUV. This high-performance variant is now available for purchase on Rivian’s online store, carrying a price tag of roughly $100,000.
Rivian, in a social media post on X, announced the arrival of the ‘Tri Max’ with the tagline, “R1S Tri is here to elevate every adventure.” This premium version of the R1S SUV sits above the base model, which starts at $75,900. What truly sets the Tri Max apart is its incredible acceleration. Unlike the standard dual-motor variants, the Tri Max utilizes three electric motors – two in the rear and one in the front – propelling it from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds. This powerhouse of an SUV boasts an impressive 850 horsepower and an estimated range of 371 miles.
While Rivian has launched the Tri Max R1S, the company has yet to release the Tri Max version of its R1T truck. The R1T Tri Max variant is anticipated to start at $99,990, significantly higher than the base model’s $69,900 price tag. Rivian’s current lineup solely consists of the R1T and R1S. However, the company is poised to introduce its R2 SUV, priced around $45,000, in the first half of 2026.
