Rob ‘Boston Rob’ Mariano is a reality TV veteran with over 20 years of experience, having appeared on shows like ‘Survivor’ and ‘The Amazing Race.’ He recently competed on NBC’s ‘Deal Or No Deal Island,’ where he says he felt like he was on a ‘vacation’ compared to his time on ‘Survivor.’ Despite the luxurious accommodations, Mariano found the game to be a challenge strategically due to the element of luck involved. He also found himself to be a target, with players forming an alliance called the Night Owls to get him out of the game. However, Mariano is a savvy strategist and has managed to stay in the game with the help of his ally, Aron Barbell.
Mariano also discussed his thoughts on ‘The Traitors,’ saying that he thinks he would be good at the game given his psychology and poker background. However, he would prefer to play as a Faithful rather than a Traitor. He also said that he would be interested in playing on a future season of ‘Deal Or No Deal Island’ if the game were to evolve to make getting shields a larger part of the play.
When asked which ‘Survivor’ contestant he would like to see continue his legacy on ‘Deal Or No Deal Island,’ Mariano said that he would not recommend it because any Survivor alum would be targeted right away.
