Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, and Other Legends Inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2024
Several renowned artists have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for 2024. Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Mary J Blige, and A Tribe Called Quest were among the honored musicians, with notable omissions including Sinead O’Connor, Sade, Mariah Carey, and Oasis.
Osbourne, previously inducted with Black Sabbath, now joins the Hall as a solo artist. Johnny Mayall was recognized with the Musical Influence Award, Alexis Korner and Big Mama Thornton received posthumous honors, and Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield were awarded the Musical Excellence Award.
Cher’s induction has been met with mixed reactions. Despite being eligible since 1991, she had previously expressed dissatisfaction with not being inducted earlier. However, the Hall’s decision this year acknowledges her significant contributions to music, including her groundbreaking use of autotune in the iconic single ‘Believe’.
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will air on ABC later this year, followed by streaming on Hulu.
