The Indian cricket team is currently enjoying a well-deserved month-long break after a packed schedule. But the break is short-lived, as the team will be back in action in September for a busy Test season. Their first assignment will be a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, with the opener scheduled for September 19th at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The second Test will take place at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 27th onwards.
Following the Bangladesh series, India will host New Zealand for a three-match Test series. This will be followed by a challenging tour of Australia in November, where the Indian team will compete in a five-match Test series.
In anticipation of the upcoming Test season, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has already begun his training regimen. Videos surfacing on social media platforms show Rohit engaged in intense training sessions with India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. These viral clips showcase Rohit performing rigorous cardio exercises in a park under Nayar’s watchful guidance.
Nayar, who joined the Indian support staff as an assistant coach last month after Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as the head coach, has been working closely with the Indian skipper. Rohit’s last Test appearance for India was in March 2024 against England, where he impressed with a century in the first innings.
With the Test season kicking off in September, Rohit’s focus is clearly on building up his fitness and preparing for the challenges ahead. The Indian captain’s commitment to training and the team’s upcoming series promise exciting and competitive cricket for fans throughout the season.
