A major rollover crash in Midtown Houston overnight has resulted in the hospitalization of two individuals. The incident occurred on I-69 Eastex Freeway near McGowen Street, leaving both vehicles involved with significant damage.
Houston Police Department (HPD) reports that one of the drivers, while heading north on Chartes Street, disregarded a red light and collided with a vehicle traveling westbound. The impact caused one of the vehicles to overturn, landing upside down.
Both drivers were promptly transported to a nearby hospital. The driver who ran the red light has reportedly sustained severe injuries. HPD is currently investigating the incident, including examining the potential role of alcohol as a contributing factor.
