The final week of fashion month always reminds me of the phrase, “a million girls would kill for this job.” But not me. My dream career would be Fai Khadra’s: the professional man-friend to the Kardashian-Jenners, boasting 2.2 million followers and a permanent front-row seat at Saint Laurent. Nobody knows exactly what Khadra does – is he a tablescaper, a shoe designer, an Instagram artist? Whatever it is, he has a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
Khadra was among the select few invited to Hôtel Particulier in Paris for Rosalía’s 32nd birthday bash. The singer, dressed in a full-look Vaquera ensemble, received a single stem rose, a far cry from the cigarette-stuffed calla lily bouquet she gifted Charli XCX back in August. The rose, thoughtfully plucked from a hotel room, was carefully transported through Montmartre by none other than Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Both ladies embraced a romantic, undone aesthetic: Kendall in a nearly transparent Alexander McQueen column gown and Hadid in what appeared to be an inside-out skirt.
The guest list was a veritable who’s who of fashion and music: Ayra Starr, Anya Taylor-Joy, Amelia Gray, Bad Gyal, Camila Cabello, Hunter Schafer, Irina Shayk, and Willow Smith. Kylie Jenner arrived fashionably late, sporting a leather bandeau and matching flared skirt, arm-in-arm with her own full-time best friend, Anastasia Karanikolaou. With most of Rosalía’s peers in town for Paris Fashion Week, it’s safe to assume she was surrounded by her closest circle of friends. But perhaps, just perhaps, she was also on the lookout for a professional plus-one. (Consider this my official resignation application.)
