Ross Adams Lands New Role in ‘The Good Ship Murder’ After Quitting ‘Hollyoaks’

Former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Ross Adams has secured a significant role in the second season of Channel 5’s popular drama ‘The Good Ship Murder.’ After departing from his long-running role as Scott Drinkwell in ‘Hollyoaks,’ Adams is set to join the cast of ‘The Good Ship Murder’ as Colin Smallwood.

The series, which premiered last year, has been renewed for two more seasons and a Christmas special. It stars former ‘Coronation Street’ actors Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley, reprising their roles as cabaret singer-turned-detective Jack Grayling and ambitious First Officer Kate Woods, respectively. Brookside and ‘Corrie’ legend Claire Sweeney will also return as Cruise Director Beverley Carnell.

Ross Adams dropped hints about his new role on Instagram on April 10th. He shared a photo in a dark blue shirt, expressing his gratitude for the support and excitement surrounding his new project. ‘Your endless support means the world to me!’ he wrote. ‘Can’t spill all the beans just yet, but trust me, it’s going to be EPIC!’

In ‘The Good Ship Murder’s’ second season, detectives Jack and Kate will reunite to solve murder mysteries against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea. Paul Testar, Commissioning Editor, Drama, at Channel 5, commented on the series’ return: ‘The blend of music, mystery, and beautiful locations was a winning formula that our viewers loved in series one.’

Mike Benson, Managing Director of Clapperboard, echoed the enthusiasm: ‘Series one was something of a journey… not least trying to film a drama on a cruise ship with 6000 holidaymakers heading to eight different countries! However, we were delighted with how the concept found an audience and are thrilled to be making two more series packed with sun, show tunes, and subterfuge.’

‘The Good Ship Murder’ airs on Channel 5 and is available for streaming on My5.
