RRB JE Recruitment 2024: Notification Out for 7,951 Posts, Apply from July 30

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the RRB JE Notification on July 27, 2024, opening the door for aspiring candidates to apply for 7,951 positions, including Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant, and more. The recruitment drive aims to fill these crucial roles within the Indian Railways, offering promising career opportunities to eligible individuals.

The RRB JE 2024 Notification also provides a transparent breakdown of the salary structure for the Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) positions. Candidates successfully recruited for these positions will fall under Pay Level 7, starting with a basic pay of ₹36,500/-.

Those appointed as Chemical & Metallurgical Assistants will also be placed at Pay Level 7, but their basic pay will be higher at ₹44,900. This salary package includes various components such as monthly salary, pay scale, allowances, and other related benefits, making it a compelling opportunity for those seeking a rewarding career in the railways.

The salary components for the RRB JE Recruitment 2024 include a basic pay of ₹35,400, a dearness allowance of ₹11,315, a transport allowance of ₹9,855, and a traveling allowance of ₹4,716, resulting in a gross income of ₹62,386. However, deductions will be applied, including income tax of ₹6,163, professional tax of ₹200, and miscellaneous tax of ₹1,000.

The recruitment process for the Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer (RRB JE) position is structured in multiple stages, encompassing four crucial phases:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Stage 1:

This initial test comprises 100 objective-type questions and lasts 90 minutes, or 120 minutes for candidates with disabilities using a scribe. The questions are aligned with the educational standards required for the posts. The 1st Stage CBT serves as a screening test, and the scores are used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT. Candidates benefiting from reservation categories will continue to be considered under those categories in subsequent stages.

2. Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Stage 2:

Shortlisted candidates from the 1st Stage CBT are invited to take the 2nd Stage CBT. This test consists of 150 questions and lasts 120 minutes, with an additional 40 minutes for candidates with disabilities using a scribe. The number of candidates shortlisted for this stage is 15 times the number of vacancies for each category. This stage delves into more detailed technical knowledge relevant to the JE role.

3. Document Verification:

After the 2nd Stage CBT, candidates who qualify are required to undergo Document Verification. This stage involves verifying the validity and accuracy of the candidates’ documents, including educational certificates, identity proofs, and other necessary paperwork.

4. Medical Examination:

The final stage is the Medical Examination, where candidates must meet specific health standards required for the Junior Engineer position. This examination ensures that candidates are physically fit to perform the duties associated with the role.
