Next week, the renowned RSA Conference (RSAC) will once again grace the Moscone Center in San Francisco for its annual flagship event in the United States. From May 6 to 9, an estimated 40,000 cybersecurity experts will convene to engage in a myriad of sessions, keynotes, an Expo, and specialized programs and events.
These platforms will facilitate discussions on cutting-edge ideas and solutions, fostering the exchange of knowledge crucial for propelling the cybersecurity sector forward. The Bay Area, a hub of technological advancement, boasts featured keynote speakers and mainstage panelists, including luminaries such as Dr. Fei-Fei Li, Co-Director of Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute; Vasu Jakkal, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Security Business; Dr. Rumman Chowdhury, CEO and Co-Founder of Humane Intelligence; and Barbara Cosgrove, Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer at Workday.
“We are excited to return to San Francisco and the Moscone Center once again,” said Linda Gray Martin, Senior Vice President, RSA Conference. “The Bay Area and San Francisco continue to provide a great hub for us, with their focus on business, technology, AI, and innovation. It allows our attendees to gain access to the region and within the city for a variety of unique networking opportunities and to bridge connections throughout the week and beyond.”
Sustainability is a key priority for the RSA Conference organizers, and the Moscone Center’s commitment to this cause has been crucial in keeping the Conference at the forefront of the convention center. With the recent achievement of LEED Platinum Green Building Certification for the convention center, San Francisco stands as the sole city globally with both a LEED Platinum-certified convention center and airport.
Beyond selecting a venue focused on sustainability, RSAC will provide shuttles connecting area hotels, aiming to minimize the use of individual cars and greatly decrease attendees’ carbon footprint.
“San Francisco is a hub for innovation and we are thrilled to welcome the thousands of RSA Conference attendees who will converge here to discuss ways in how technology can help us make our world safer,” said Mayor London Breed. “Large events and conferences are vital to our City’s economic vibrancy and we will continue to take strategic steps to not only bring more people Downtown to enjoy our amazing sites and cultural experiences, but invite them to venture out into our diverse and exciting neighborhoods.”
The San Francisco Travel Association’s projections indicate that the Conference will result in an economic impact of $62.8 million. This figure encompasses the expenditures of attendees, event organizers, exhibitors, B2B supply chain transactions, and local workforce wages.
Hotel Council of San Francisco President and CEO Alex Bastian said, “San Francisco serves as the natural choice for conferences like RSA because of our rich ecosystem of talent, technology, resources, and forward-thinking culture. Our hotels are committed to providing a secure and inviting atmosphere, ensuring attendees feel at home while exploring the boundless opportunities our city offers. We look forward to welcoming some of the brightest minds in technology to contribute to the energy that makes our city special.”
Marilyn Skinner, Director of Public Relations at Alexander’s Steakhouse Group said, “Alexander’s Steakhouse proudly embraces its role in the vibrant tapestry of the San Francisco culinary scene, extending a warm welcome to convention attendees who grace our city’s streets. Events like RSA provide us with the canvas to showcase our unparalleled hospitality, inviting ambiance, and culinary artistry, crafting unforgettable moments for both travelers and locals alike.”
