Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has clarified the organization’s stance on reservations, stating that the RSS has consistently supported reservations since its inception. Speaking at a recent school event, Bhagwat emphasized that the RSS believes reservations should continue as long as they are deemed necessary. He highlighted that discrimination still exists in society, even if it is not always apparent. Bhagwat’s comments come in the wake of a political debate between the BJP and Congress over reservations. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had accused the BJP of harboring intentions to amend the constitution and abolish reservations under the influence of the RSS. However, Bhagwat strongly refuted these allegations, asserting that the RSS has always supported reservations as enshrined in the constitution. He emphasized that the RSS believes in upholding the principles of equality and justice for all citizens. Bhagwat’s statement underscores the RSS’s commitment to protecting the rights of marginalized communities and ensuring their full participation in society. The RSS has consistently advocated for policies that promote social justice and inclusivity, recognizing the importance of reservations in addressing historical inequalities and fostering a more equitable society.
