Rajasthan University Semester and Final Exams Delayed Due to Lok Sabha Elections
Jaipur: The semester and final examinations of regular and non-collegiate students at Rajasthan University (RU) will be delayed this year due to the Lok Sabha elections, officials said. The delay in examinations is likely to impact the new admissions too.
Two constituent colleges of the university, University Commerce College and Rajasthan College, are acquired by the election department due to which the campuses cannot be used for academic purposes. “The examinations will get delayed till the election process is completed as proper infrastructure is not available. Examinations for non-collegiate students are conducted during May-June, but as the colleges are acquired for the polling process, exams can be conducted only after June,” said a senior official from the university.
Meanwhile, student bodies said that if internal examinations of regular first-year students can be conducted in University Maharaja College, then a similar system can be developed for second-semester examinations too.
The delay in examinations is likely to have a cascading effect, impacting the academic calendar and potentially delaying new admissions. The university administration is working to finalize a revised schedule for the examinations, taking into account the election process and the availability of infrastructure.
