Russia and India are poised to initiate consultations in June regarding a bilateral agreement aimed at streamlining travel and bolstering tourism ties. This agreement seeks to introduce visa-free group tourist exchanges between the two nations. The announcement was made by a Russian minister during the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024” in Kazan. The minister disclosed that the inaugural discussion on the draft agreement is slated for June, with the anticipation of signing the agreement by the end of the year. The Russian minister referenced the success of visa-free tourist exchanges currently in operation with China and Iran as a model for the proposed agreement. Russia and China launched their visa-free group tourist exchange on August 1 of the preceding year, while the visa-free group tourist exchange between Russia and Iran commenced on the same date, heralding a significant advancement in tourism collaboration.
