Rwanda Flights to Proceed ‘Without Further Delays’ After Parliamentary Approval

After overcoming parliamentary hurdles, the UK government’s plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda has gained parliamentary approval. This clears the way for flights to the African country to commence before the end of summer. The controversial legislation encountered resistance in the House of Lords, but the House of Commons repeatedly rejected proposed amendments, enabling the bill to become law. The government has already arranged flights for June and has backup plans for charter flights to transport illegal immigrants to Rwanda.
