Ryan Gosling recently shared his unique approach to determining whether a role is worth taking on. The actor assesses roles based on their potential significance to him on his deathbed. “I just tend to go deathbed with everything,” he explained to Men’s Health Magazine. “I often think about what’s going to matter to me on my deathbed, that I did and that I didn’t do. It puts things into perspective.”
Gosling acknowledges that his decision-making process may not be conventional. However, he finds it valuable in helping him prioritize what truly matters in life. “I don’t think I’ll regret anything professionally,” he said. “But I do think when it comes to Eva and the girls, they come first.”
Gosling’s wife, Eva Mendes, and their two daughters are his top priorities. He believes that family should come before professional ambitions. “Anytime I’m struggling, I just think about whether it’s going to matter to me then because, yeah, this whole thing can be distorting,” he said. Gosling’s approach emphasizes the importance of reflecting on one’s values and making choices that align with them.
