Hamilton County Juvenile Court Provides Second Chances with ‘Safe Surrender Day’
The Hamilton County Juvenile Court is offering individuals with outstanding juvenile warrants the opportunity to address their charges and avoid the barriers that come with an outstanding warrant at their ‘Safe Surrender Day’ event.
Individuals are encouraged to attend the event on Tuesday at the Hamilton County Juvenile Court (800 Broadway) from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. By attending, individuals can proactively resolve their cases and move forward free of the limitations associated with outstanding warrants.
Those who believe they are innocent can present their case to a public defender. The court emphasizes that not addressing the charge will not make it disappear.
Attending the event does not guarantee immediate release, but it positions individuals for a more favorable outcome. In a previous event, eight juveniles addressed 22 warrants head-on.
Snack and bus tokens will be available at the event, and a Spanish interpreter will be present from 1:30 p.m. onwards. Individuals with questions about their case can contact the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office at 513-946-3700.
Those unable to attend Tuesday’s event can visit the court at 2020 Auburn Avenue or a police station at their convenience. For more information, call 513-946-9417 or 513-946-9461, or visit the court’s website.
