SAI and Glenmark Aquatic Foundation Partner to Open New Swimming Training Center in Gandhinagar

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Glenmark Aquatic Foundation (GAF) have taken a significant step towards fostering swimming talent in India by announcing the opening of their joint swimming training center in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Thursday in Delhi, marks the establishment of their third joint center.

This new center, located at the prestigious Netaji Subhash Western Centre in Gandhinagar, will primarily focus on developing swimmers between the ages of 6 and 14. The program, designed and mentored by South African coach Ian Els, will prioritize foundational skills, technique refinement, and physical conditioning. It will adhere to the globally accepted long-term Athlete Development Model, ensuring a comprehensive and sustainable approach to training.

The center promises world-class training facilities and expert coaching, creating an environment conducive to nurturing young talent. SAI, in a statement, highlighted the shared mission with GAF to develop swimming talent across the nation. The statement emphasized the commitment to providing young athletes with the best resources and training environments, believing that investing in their future will yield significant results for Indian sports on the global stage.
