Sainsbury’s Delivery Service Outage Leaves Customers in the Dark
Sainsbury’s customers in the UK faced disruptions to their online grocery delivery service on Monday morning due to technical issues. The outage, which began around 6am, affected order tracking and deliveries, leaving customers frustrated and seeking answers.
Customers took to social media to express their concerns, with many reporting that their orders scheduled for delivery that morning had not arrived. One customer, Mike Cowan, stated that he had been on hold for 30 minutes with customer service without receiving any information about his order.
Sainsbury’s acknowledged the issue in a statement, saying that they were experiencing some technical problems that were impacting a large number of orders. They advised customers to place new orders for a future date while they worked to resolve the situation.
Downdetector, a website that tracks online outages, reported a surge in problem reports for Sainsbury’s, with 82% more reports of issues than usual. The majority of the problems were related to order tracking, while some customers also reported issues with the Sainsbury’s website.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said that a small technical issue had affected some online grocery orders that morning. They added that they had contacted these customers directly to apologize for the inconvenience.
The outage serves as a reminder of the importance of reliable online delivery services, especially for customers who depend on them for their grocery needs. Sainsbury’s has been working to resolve the issue and restore normal service as soon as possible.
