Sainsbury’s shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of a new limited-time promotion that offers hundreds of extra Nectar points. Money Saving Expert, the consumer finance service, has approved the promotion, which is available to millions of customers. To participate, customers must opt in via the Nectar app and spend £1 or more at a time in multiple transactions. The promotion runs from May 8 to June 4, 2024.
Customers who meet the eligibility criteria will see a tile in their Nectar app prompting them to participate. Once they have opted in, they can earn bonus points with every in-store or online purchase of £1 or more. Most groceries are eligible for the promotion, but spirits, liqueurs, tobacco, and baby milk products are excluded. Online purchases must be delivered before June 4 to qualify for the bonus points.
The number of bonus points earned varies. In one example provided by Money Saving Expert, a customer was offered 100 bonus points on each of their next five shops, totaling 500 extra points (worth £2.50). Customers are advised to check their Nectar app for specific details about their bonus points offer.
To ensure they receive the bonus points, customers must link their Nectar and Sainsbury’s accounts when shopping online. Instructions for linking accounts can be found on the Sainsbury’s website. Customers who miss out on this promotion can still earn regular Nectar points, with one point awarded for every £1 spent.
