New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen has previously stated that Marshon Lattimore is “a key part of our football team,” but General Manager Mickey Loomis provided a more nuanced answer when asked about Lattimore’s future on Tuesday. “You can ask the question, and you have the right to ask the question, but you know, listen: Everybody is tradable, it just depends on the offer that you get,” Loomis said, via Luke Johnson of NOLA.com. “And yet, that’s not very common. I don’t like trading players that have been contributors for us.”
Lattimore has been a Pro Bowler in each of the past three seasons. However, injuries have limited him to just 17 games over the last two seasons. Despite these injury concerns, the Saints may not receive a trade offer that is attractive enough to part with Lattimore due to his past performance and the lack of depth at the cornerback position. As a result, Lattimore appears likely to remain with the Saints as they aim to improve their health and make a playoff run in the upcoming season.
