Salesforce Abandons Talks to Acquire Informatica

Salesforce Ends Acquisition Talks with Informatica

Salesforce has withdrawn from acquisition negotiations with Informatica, a data management company, after failing to reach an agreement on terms. According to sources, the primary sticking point was pricing. Salesforce proposed a price in the mid-$30s per share, which fell below Informatica’s desired valuation.

When the potential acquisition was first reported in April, Informatica’s shares were trading at approximately $38. Had the deal been completed, it would have ranked among Salesforce’s most significant acquisitions, following its $28 billion purchase of messaging platform Slack Technologies.

Representatives from both Salesforce and Informatica declined to comment on the matter. Following the news, Informatica’s stock price fell by 4.9% to around $33 shortly after the market opened on Monday. Conversely, Salesforce’s shares gained 2.8% to reach about $278.
