Ramesh has declared that the entire Bishnoi community stands firmly behind Lawrence in the infamous blackbuck case, which stems from an incident where Salman Khan is accused of hunting a blackbuck – an animal considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
In an interview with NDTV, Ramesh categorically denied allegations that the Bishnoi community accepted money from Salman Khan in exchange for dropping the case. He challenged the notion that financial gain was the motive behind the community’s stand, stating that if they were seeking monetary benefits, they would have accepted the money offered by Salman Khan earlier.
Ramesh vividly described the strong emotions within the Bishnoi community following the blackbuck incident. He conveyed that the community was deeply angered by Salman Khan’s alleged actions, emphasizing their strong dedication to animal conservation. He stated, “…When Salman Khan killed the black buck, every Bishnoi’s blood was boiling. We left it to the court to decide. But if the community was made fun of, then it is natural for society to get angry. Today, the entire Bishnoi community stands with Lawrence in this matter.”
The case has gained significant media attention with reports of death threats received by Salman Khan from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang. In April 2023, Navi Mumbai Police registered a case against members of the Bishnoi gang for allegedly planning to kill Salman Khan at his farmhouse near Mumbai. This followed reports of a firing incident outside the actor’s residence in Mumbai, allegedly carried out by Bishnoi gang members. Further, a threat message was sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police demanding a sum of ₹5 crore from Salman Khan to end his long-standing feud with Lawrence Bishnoi. This incident prompted heightened security measures for Salman Khan and his family.
