Salim Khan, the renowned film producer and screenwriter, was the target of an unsettling incident at Mumbai’s Carter Road on Wednesday. A woman draped in a burqa approached Khan and posed a chilling question: “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bulau kya? ” (Should I call Lawrence Bishnoi?). This inquiry, referencing the notorious gangster who has been linked to previous attacks on Salman Khan, the actor’s son, has sparked immediate concern.
Police have classified the incident as a potential prank, however, the connection to Bishnoi cannot be ignored. The incident occurred while Salim Khan was enjoying a leisurely stroll at the promenade following his morning walk.
The threat comes amidst a backdrop of escalating tensions surrounding Salman Khan’s safety. On April 14th, two individuals on a motorcycle fired shots outside Salman Khan’s residence in the upscale Bandra suburb. The assailants, later apprehended in Gujarat, were linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and charged alongside the gang’s key member, Rohit Godhara.
Further investigation revealed that Anmol Vishnoi, the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the attack. He is believed to have received the weapons in Panvel a month before the incident and provided the shooters with detailed instructions. The planned shooting reportedly earned the shooters a total of ₹ 3 lakh.
Adding another layer of complexity to the case, Harpal Singh, an accused in the firing incident, alleged that a prison doctor demanded money to treat his fractured finger. He made this claim during a video appearance before Judge B.D. Shelke at a special court for the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). The court has instructed the chief medical officer (CMO) of Taloja jail to submit a report and ensure that Singh receives appropriate medical care.
With each new development, the case surrounding Salman Khan’s security and the potential involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang continues to unfold, leaving authorities and the public alike on edge. The investigation is ongoing and will likely shed more light on the motivations behind the recent threats.
