Samastipur Lok Sabha Constituency: Voters Clamor for Jobs, Development, and Industrial Resurgence
The Samastipur Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar is poised for the polls on May 13, with voters expressing an urgent need for job creation, industrial revival, and overall development of the region.
Employment opportunities and the lack of industries have emerged as primary concerns among the electorate. The constituency, once home to thriving industrial units like the Rameshwar Jute Mill and a sugar mill, has witnessed the closure of these industries over the years, leading to widespread unemployment and economic stagnation.
The Rameshwar Jute Mill, the lone industrial unit in Samastipur, has struggled for survival due to inadequate government support. Despite its potential to provide employment to hundreds, the mill faces challenges in accessing electricity subsidies and other assistance.
Another major concern for voters is the lack of infrastructure development. Traffic congestion and waterlogging during monsoon seasons have become persistent issues, with the long-pending demand for a rail overbridge and bypasses in Rosera remaining unfulfilled.
Both the candidates contesting for the Samastipur Lok Sabha seat, Shambhavi Kunal Choudhary of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Sunny Hazari of Congress, have acknowledged these pressing issues. Ms. Choudhary has prioritized the revival of closed industries and job creation in her campaign, while Mr. Hazari has echoed similar sentiments.
As the constituency awaits its next representative, the citizens of Samastipur hope for a leader who will champion their demands for economic growth, infrastructure development, and a brighter future for the region.
