Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shivam Dube have arrived in Harare, Zimbabwe, to join the Indian team for the ongoing T20I series. These three players were part of the victorious Indian squad that clinched the T20 World Cup in the West Indies last week. Due to their involvement in the World Cup and the team’s four-day delay in Barbados caused by Hurricane Beryl, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to withdraw them from the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe.
However, according to sources within the BCCI, Samson, Jaiswal, and Dube will be available for selection starting from the third match of the series, scheduled for July 10th at the Harare Sports Club.
Following their extended stay in Barbados, the Indian team returned to Delhi on a chartered flight a few days ago. Upon their arrival in the national capital, the players had a special interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before heading to Mumbai to participate in a victory parade and felicitation program at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
The T20 World Cup-winning Indian team was celebrated with an open-top bus parade from Nariman Point to the Wankhede Stadium. The festivities were somewhat delayed due to rain and heavy traffic, but fans patiently waited to welcome their heroes. While most of the team members dispersed to their respective homes after the event, Samson, Dube, and Jaiswal remained in Mumbai before departing for Harare.
