Samsung is bringing its innovative Circle to Search AI feature to its popular Galaxy A series phones. Initially launched with the Galaxy S24 series, Circle to Search allows users to perform quick visual searches directly from their phone screens. This means no more leaving an app or even knowing what you’re looking for – simply circle, highlight, or tap on any object, and the AI-powered feature will use Google Search to provide relevant information. This is a welcome addition for Galaxy A series users, offering a convenient and fast way to learn more about anything they see.
The update will be rolling out to the Galaxy A55, A54, A35, and A34 models. This move comes after rumors circulated about Samsung bringing Galaxy AI features to the A Series. Samsung is committed to expanding AI accessibility, as evident in the recent statement from its president and head of mobile experience, TM Roh, who said: “We are dedicated to bringing best-in-class AI technology to a broader audience, empowering users with the option to work more efficiently, create more freely and enjoy richer, more personalized interactions with their devices.”
While Circle to Search is part of the Galaxy AI suite, it’s not exclusive to Samsung devices. Google Pixel phones, including the new Pixel 9 series, also feature the functionality.
Samsung plans to start rolling out the software update to the A Series phones in August. However, availability may vary depending on the region. After the A Series update, the feature will be extended to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ tablets.
It remains to be seen if this is the beginning of a larger update process bringing more Galaxy AI features to the A Series. Due to the less powerful processors in these devices, the A Series might not be able to handle all of the more advanced AI features. Nonetheless, Samsung’s commitment to expanding AI accessibility across its device portfolio is a positive step for users, offering more ways to leverage AI technology to enhance their mobile experiences.
