Samsung One UI 7 Beta Leaks: Apple-Inspired Features and Design Changes

We’ve all been waiting for this, haven’t we? Following whispers from a reliable leaker suggesting Samsung’s imminent release of the One UI 7 beta, leaked screenshots and photos have surfaced, offering a glimpse into the upcoming software update for Samsung Android devices. Shared by SmartPrix, these images confirm that One UI 7 will be a major update, drawing inspiration from Apple’s iOS in several key areas.

One of the most notable changes is the revamped appearance of stock app icons. Apps like Camera, Theme, Dialer, and Contacts will sport a more 3D look achieved through gradients and shadows. Additionally, widgets are getting an Apple iOS 18-inspired makeover. SmartPrix also suggests that the camera UI will undergo significant design changes. The primary controls, including camera modes, quick controls, and zoom shortcuts, are expected to be relocated to the bottom for improved accessibility. Other shooting modes might be integrated into a horizontal bar or a new pop-up menu.

Samsung is taking a page from Apple’s playbook by introducing a Dynamic Island-like feature, a pill for system apps on the home screen. Unlike Apple’s implementation at the top center of the screen, Samsung’s Dynamic Island will reside on the left side of the notification area. Samsung is also embracing Apple’s approach to task continuity within One UI 7. Users will be able to seamlessly answer calls on their Galaxy smartphone and transfer them to a Galaxy Tab or TV with a simple gesture.

One UI 7 will be characterized by a more rounded design aesthetic, smoother animations, and a two-page notification panel. This means that notifications and quick settings will have separate dropdowns, with notifications on the left and quick settings on the right, mirroring Apple’s iOS design.

One UI 7 is anticipated to complement Android 15, which is expected to exit beta testing in the coming weeks and be gradually rolled out to Android devices. This update will introduce various new features and enhancements, including accessible Bluetooth controls, a notification cooldown, partial screen sharing, improved PDF experiences, enhanced NFC functionality, and satellite connectivity. While both software updates will be interconnected, Samsung may not release One UI 7 simultaneously with Android 15. There could be a gap of several weeks between the two releases. In the meantime, we eagerly await the first beta release of One UI 7. Come on, Samsung!
