Samsung’s Android 15 and One UI 7 Beta Set for July 29 Release

Samsung’s first beta release for Android 15 and One UI 7 is expected to arrive as early as July 29, according to reliable Samsung tipster Max Jambor. This beta release promises significant UI and feature changes, including new icons, a revamped home screen and lock screen, a refreshed camera UI, and a unique take on the iPhone’s Dynamic Island feature. While the beta is typically scheduled for August, Samsung is reportedly releasing it two weeks ahead of schedule this year.

The initial beta rollout will be limited to users in the United States and Korea, primarily developers and early adopters. Samsung plans to release several beta versions throughout the month leading up to the full launch in September or October. The Galaxy S24 series, along with the latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, are expected to be among the first devices to receive the update. Older generations of Samsung devices will receive the update in reverse order.

It’s important to note that these release dates are tentative, as Samsung has been known to delay beta updates in the past. Google is also still finalizing Android 15, with the fourth beta being released on July 18.

Leaks from Ice Universe reveal potential features for Android 15/One UI 7, including streamlined Bluetooth controls, partial screen sharing, a notification cooldown, enhanced PDF experiences, improved NFC reliability, and satellite connectivity. Samsung’s interpretation of the Dynamic Island, inspired by the iPhone, will involve an elliptical icon on the status bar that displays information like stopwatch and recording times, offering a less dynamic and comprehensive experience compared to Apple’s implementation.

With the Pixel 9 models set to be released with Android 15 pre-installed on August 13, Samsung users can expect a sneak peek at the new features arriving on their devices soon.
