Sanjeeda Sheikh, a renowned actress and dancer, recently shared her unforgettable experience working with legendary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his highly anticipated OTT debut series, ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Market.’ Speaking exclusively with ETimes, Sanjeeda opened up about sharing screen space with some of the most prominent names in the industry, including Manisha Koirala and Sonakshi Sinha.
Expressing her admiration for Bhansali’s unparalleled artistry, Sanjeeda stated, ‘I was in the safe hands of Mr. Bhansali. So there was never a sense of insecurity within me.’ She further elaborated, ‘In fact, tomorrow if he casts me in a role to just stand silently in a corner and do nothing, I am sure he will orchestrate the moment with great passion. I’ve always manifested working with sir and when you see your dream turn into reality, it feels like a blessing.’
Sanjeeda, widely regarded as one of television’s most talented dancers, underwent a transformative journey under Bhansali’s guidance. ‘I thought I was a fabulous dancer until I met Sanjay sir,’ she admitted. ‘His knowledge about beats and rhythm is amazing… music is life for him. So when he would react to my moves by saying, ‘Nahi nahi, theek nahi kar rahi ho’, it turned me into a better performer and a better dancer.’
