Sarthak Chavan Dominates MRF MMSC Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship

Sarthak Chavan, the 17-year-old racing prodigy from Pune, delivered an impressive performance at the second round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2024, held at the Madras International Circuit on Saturday. Chavan dominated both premier Pro-Stock categories, the 301-400cc Open and the 165cc Open, securing a double victory.

In the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open race, Chavan showcased his mastery, winning by a comfortable margin of 6.8 seconds on a drying track after overnight rainfall. His performance in the Pro-Stock 165cc Open race was equally captivating. He displayed his strategic acumen, overtaking his two teammates, Jagan Kumar and Chiranth Vishwanath, on the final lap to clinch the win. To cap off a highly successful day, Chavan also bagged the special award for the fastest lap of the day across all categories, clocking a blistering time of 1 minute, 50.329 seconds in the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open race.

The National championship also saw notable victories from riders based in Chennai. Abdul Basim, another 17-year-old talent, secured his third consecutive win in the Novice (Pro-Stock 165cc) class, riding for Rockers Racing. Jagathishree Kumaresan of One Racing scored her maiden win in the Girls (Stock 165cc) category. Kaushik Subbaiah Ganesan, riding for RACR Castrol Power1 Ultimate, achieved a hat-trick of wins in the Stock 301-400cc (Novice) category.

The second round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2024 witnessed thrilling races and remarkable performances. Chavan’s exceptional display highlighted his potential as a rising star in Indian motorcycle racing, while the victories of other riders further showcased the talent and competitiveness of the sport in India.
