Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund (TDF) recently made a significant visit to the Aseer region, a move aimed at fostering growth within the local tourism industry and encouraging private sector expansion. The visit’s core objective was to ignite investment in tourism projects and strengthen collaborations with local business leaders and investors throughout the region.
During the visit, the TDF delegation held a key meeting with His Excellency Abdullah Aljali, Secretary of Aseer Region, at Aseer Municipality. HE Aljali emphasized the vast potential within Aseer’s tourism sector and highlighted TDF’s crucial role in empowering the private sector to achieve the goals outlined in the National Tourism Strategy and the Aseer Region’s Development Strategy.
One of the visit’s most notable outcomes was the signing of an agreement to advance the “Le Premier” project. This agreement includes financing for the new Hajla Hotel, a 151-room hospitality venture that will also feature entertainment and retail spaces. This investment demonstrates TDF’s commitment to supporting innovative developments that enrich Aseer’s tourism landscape.
Throughout the visit, TDF’s leadership engaged in discussions with the acting CEO of the Aseer Development Authority and the vice president of the Abha Chamber. These conversations focused on exploring additional opportunities to accelerate tourism growth and provide support for local initiatives.
The visit concluded with a Tourism Development Townhall, organized in partnership with the Abha Chamber. This event featured a panel discussion where TDF leaders shared their vision, presenting a range of financial and non-financial solutions aimed at strengthening the private sector and promoting sustainable tourism growth in Aseer.
As part of its broader strategy, TDF is conducting a nationwide tour, including Aseer, to enhance its role in driving tourism investment. This tour serves as a platform to showcase TDF’s innovative programs and inspire investors to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s sustainable tourism vision.
