Ferry service between Sausalito and San Francisco remains suspended due to a structural issue discovered during a routine inspection of the Sausalito pier. The damage was found on one of the pier’s four pylons, and repairs are expected to take several more days.
Passengers are advised to use the buses that are parked in front of the terminal instead of the Golden Gate Ferry. The ferry service is expected to resume normal operations later this week after the repairs are completed.
The Sausalito pier remains closed, and a large crane and barge were spotted near the pier over the weekend, indicating that work is underway. However, no work could be done until low tide, which has caused some confusion among visitors.
Once repairs are made, there will be another inspection before the ferry service reopens. Passengers should expect continued suspension of ferry service for the next few days.
