Dr. Root is Senior Fellow Emerita at Stanford University’s Woods Institute for the Environment. Notably, she was a lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 4th Assessment Report, which was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize with Vice President Al Gore in 2007. Her contributions to the scientific community extend beyond her research, encompassing service on numerous boards and science advisory committees focused on understanding the impact of climate change on wildlife and ecosystems.
