School Van Crash in Ballia, India Kills One Student, Injures 15

A tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning in Ballia, India, claiming the life of a school student and injuring at least 15 others. The incident involved a pickup van transporting school children that lost control and collided with a parked truck.

The District Magistrate of Ballia, Praveen Kumar Lakshyakar, confirmed the details of the incident. He stated that the accident took place near Kapuri Narayanpur under the Fefna police station area in Ballia district. The van, carrying school children, veered off course and crashed into the stationary truck.

The injured students were immediately rushed to the district hospital for medical attention. The condition of three to four students remains critical, with two of them being transferred to Varanasi for specialized care. The remaining critically injured students are being monitored in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Critical Care Unit at the Ballia district hospital. Medical professionals are providing all necessary treatment to the injured.

The accident occurred as the students were heading to school. The driver of the van appears to have lost control, resulting in the collision. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further details are awaited as authorities continue to gather information.
