This statement follows a similar one released by Schumer on Thursday night, in response to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan’s demand for hearings on the prosecution of Trump. Jordan has alleged an unprecedented political prosecution of Trump, who was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Schumer’s plea for restraint highlights the ongoing political and legal battle surrounding Trump’s conviction. While some Republicans seek to challenge the prosecution, Schumer maintains that the legal process should be allowed to proceed without interference.
