Scoot, the budget-friendly airline subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is expanding its reach across Southeast Asia with the launch of new routes to Kertajati, Indonesia, and Malacca, Malaysia. The expansion, starting in late 2024, will offer travelers more options for exploring the region and marks a significant step in Scoot’s growth strategy.
To accommodate the new routes, Scoot is adding two brand-new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, aptly named ‘Jalan-Jalan’ and ‘Travel Kaki’. These aircraft, scheduled to arrive in September and October 2024, will enhance Scoot’s operational capabilities and provide the necessary capacity for the new destinations.
Flights to Kertajati (Greater Bandung) in Indonesia will commence on September 28, 2024, with twice-weekly services operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The inaugural flight (TR292) will depart from Singapore at 3:45 PM and arrive in Kertajati at 4:50 PM. The return flight (TR293) will depart at 5:25 PM and arrive in Singapore at 8:15 PM. From October 1, the flight schedule will shift to earlier slots, departing Singapore at 5:00 AM and arriving at 6:05 AM, with the return flight at 6:40 AM, reaching Singapore by 9:40 AM.
Scoot’s flights to Malacca in Malaysia will begin on October 23, 2024, with five flights per week scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays, and additional days starting from November. The inaugural flight to Malacca (TR408) will depart from Singapore at 2:00 PM and arrive in Malacca at 2:55 PM. The return flight (TR409) will leave Malacca at 3:50 PM and land in Singapore at 4:45 PM. From October 25, additional flights will operate twice weekly on Fridays and Sundays with evening departures and returns.
These new routes, connecting travelers to culturally rich and historically significant destinations, are a testament to Scoot’s commitment to providing affordable and accessible travel options within the region. By expanding its network and increasing flight frequency, Scoot aims to offer greater connectivity and convenience for travelers seeking to explore the diverse landscapes and vibrant cultures of Southeast Asia.
